kirkop-girls-training-sicily2014For the second time, the Kirkop United FC Girls Academy organised an overseas training camp – this time for the Under-9, Under-11, Under-16 age groups and the Senior Team.

A contingent of around one hundred consisting of 35 academy players, Senior Team, Coaches and Parents left Malta on Friday for this four-day experience at the Kastalia Resort in Sicily on the Virtu Ferries. All categories had the opportunity to have all training sessions conducted by Coach Carmel Busuttil (il-Buzu) who was very surprised by the dedication of the Girls Academy and the talent that the girls possess.

The Senior Team also played a friendly match against ASD Bruffalori which ended with the result of 1-0 in favour of the Maltese team thanks to a headed goal by their forward Jade Flask. This also meant that Colombian International players Natalia Villaraga and Jacky Fonseca played their last game for the club before heading back to their country to continue their studies.

On the final day, all the contingent had the opportunity to enjoy a one day at the Aquapark at Etnaland, a day which was fully enjoyed by all girls, coaches and parents.

Meanwhile on Wednesday 23rd July, the Summer Camp for Girls will start for all girls at the Academy with various fun activities including beach soccer and BBQ.
