Marsaskala and Luqa St. Andrew’s registered wins as the BOV Third Division League kicked-off on Thursday with two matches at the Centenary Stadium.
In the first match, Marsaskala, who were relegated from a division 2 last season, beat Kalkara 1-0 thanks to a goal by Denis Sytnik five minutes from time.
In the other match, Luqa St. Andrew’s beat Marsaxlokk 2-1.
Charles Camilleri put Luqa ahead on the 14th and Greg Marney doubled the score two minutes later. Marlon Grech pulled one back one minute in the second half.
