The Youth Football Association, in collaboration with the MFA Technical Centre, presented a seminar by Gary Boyd, a Talent ID Scout with Fulham FC. Mr. Boyd is a UEFA A Licenced Coach, who worked at Crewe Alexandra famed youth academy and with the Northern Ireland FA, before joining Fulham FC Youth Academy three years ago.

After a brief introduction by Youth FA Vice-President Robert Attard and Robert Gatt (MFA Technical Director), Mr. Boyd started his presentation by introducing Fulham FC Youth Academy’s mission statement, philosophy, playing style and facilities to the Head Coaches and Staff Coaches present at the Centenary Hall.

Gary Boyd then moved on to explain in detail the recruitment process and the various factors they look at, amongst which, the technique, football intelligence, personality, agility, balance, co-ordination and speed. Boyd concluded his presentation by looking at the various training methods used by Fulham FC and how they care for their players.
