The Refereeing Department announces a referees’ exchange with Latvia – the third in successive seasons.

The Latvian Higher League match – FK Spartaks vs FK Ventspils, scheduled for Saturday, will be officiated by a Maltese refereeing trio consisting of FIFA Referee Alan Mario Sant, FIFA Assistant Referee William Debattista and Elite Assistant Referee Paul Apap. The match is being played at the Jurmalas Pilsetas Stadions in Jurmala.

MFA Director of Refereeing and UEFA Referee Observer Adrian Casha is accompanying the Maltese match officials following an invitation by the Latvian Football Federation to assess the performance of Latvian match officials in another match from the same top division.

On Saturday, Adrian Casha will be the observer at the FK Jelgava vs BFC Daugavpils match being played at the Olympic Sports Centre of Zemgale in Jelgava. The match will be officiated by Elite Referee Vitalijs Spasjonnikovs, FIFA Assistant Referee Aleksejs Spasjonnikovs, Elite Assistant Referee Valdis Koritko and FIFA Assistant Referee Ruslans Botoss (4th Official).
