Nine Premier League players suspended

Nine Premier League players were handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner after the weekend’s matches.

The worst hit were Tarxien Rainbows who had three players suspended, namely Wesley Lima Silva, Owen Bugeja and Matthew Tabone. The other players to be suspended are Marcelo Dias (Hibernians), Andrew Scicluna (Naxxar), Clifford Gatt Baldacchino (Sliema), Luke Dimech (Valletta), Clifford Gauci and Javier Diaz Serrano (Zebbug).

Wesley Pipico, Bugeja and Tabone are ruled out of the next game against Qormi, Marcelo Dias the game against Birkirkara, Gatt Baldacchino the match against Balzan, Andrew Scicluna and Luke Dimech the clash between Naxxar and Valletta while Gauci and Diaz the game against Pietà.

In Division 1, Joseph Farrugia (Fgura) and Guilherme Soares Guedes De Freitas (Mqabba) were banned for three matches while Predrag Babic (Lija), Stacey Vella (Msida) and Miguel Attard (Zurrieq) were suspended for one match.

Kristian Galea (Sirens) was banned for one match in Division 2 while in Division 3, Mark Grech (St. Venera) was suspended for three matches, Andrew Xuereb (Ta’ Xbiex) for one match and St. Venera coach Malcolm Bugeja for two matches.
