Swiss make Under-19 side pay dearly for early lead

Malta paid dearly for taking an early lead in the game against Switzerland in the second match from Group 6 of the UEFA Under-19 Championship at the Regional Sports Centre in Waterford, Ireland.

Matthew Guillaumier put Malta ahead on the 8th minute but a brace by Nicolas Hunziker on 27 and 33 minutes put the Swiss 2-1 ahead. Kilian Pagliuca increased the lead thirteen minutes in the second half and five minutes later, Hunziker scored the fourth goal. Captain Nico Elvedi increased the lead on 71 minutes before Nicholas Hunziker added another two goals on the 76th and 77th minute to seal a 7-1 win.

Malta plays the third and final game against Gibraltar on Tuesday. Gibraltar lost 0-8 to Switzerland and 1-4 to Ireland.
