Nine Premier League players suspended

Nine Premier League players were handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches.

Samir Arab (Balzan), Matheus Bissi da Silva (Birkirkara), Amadou Samb (Floriana), Tyrone Farrugia (Mosta), Zoran Levnajic, Bjorn Bondin, Mauricio Matias Latini Mazzetti (Qormi), Fabio Mangiacasale (Sliema) and Carlo Gordon Monti (Zebbug) are therefore ruled out of the weekend’s matches.

Levnajic, Bondin, Mazzetti and Mangiacasale are ruled out of Qormi vs Sliema, Arab and Bissi the clash Birkirkara vs Balzan, Samb will miss the game against Pietà, Farrugia the derby against Naxxar and Monti the game against Tarxien.

In Division 1, Darrell Grech (Birzebbuga), Giancarlo Sammut (Gudja), Moises Avila Perez (Gzira), Patrick Borg (Lija), Mark Anthony Psaila (Mqabba), Gianluca Vella and Ricardo Silva Faria (Msida), Glen Azzopardi (Pembroke), Michael Johnson and Joseph Farrugia (St. Andrews) were banned for one match in Division 1.

In Division 2, Dunstan Zarb (Dingli) was suspended for three matches while Alistair Scerri (Gharghur), Luke Grech and Rodney Refalo (Hamrun), Matthew Vella and Stephane Sylla (Mellieha) were handed a one-match ban. Zejtun official Richie Curmi was banned for two matches.

Darren Cristina (Kalkara), Terence Farrugia (Kirkop), Claudio Pace (Marsaskala), Shawn Peplow (Mtarfa), Ryan Refalo and Christian Farrugia (Santa Lucia) were banned for one match in Division 3.
