BOV Division 1: Sixth consecutive win for Gzira United

A goal by new signing Nemanja Milovanovic after less than a minute enabled Gzira United to register a sixth consecutive win as they beat Rabat Ajax 1-0 in one of four matches from the BOV First Division.

The Maroons join Gudja United on the 28-point mark but Gudja have a game in hand.

St. Andrews regained the top spot thanks to a goal on the 93rd minute which enabled them to beat Vittoriosa Stars 1-0.

Melita maintained the challenge for promotion with a 4-0 win over Msida St. Joseph. Michael Valenzia put the Amateurs ahead when he converted a penalty on the 12th minute. Alexander Eby doubled the score on 36 minutes. Melita then managed to score twice between the 62nd and 65th thanks to Jean Pierre Attard and Luke Bianco.

In another match, Birzebbuga St. Peter’s registered their second win as they beat Zurrieq 1-0 thanks to a goal by Sunday Eboh on the 77th minute.

St. Andrews lead the way with 29 points, followed by Gudja and Gzira on 28, Pembroke and Melita 26, Vittoriosa, St. George’s and Lija 22, Fgura 20, Mqabba and Rabat 17, Msida 14, Zurrieq 10 and Birzebbuga 9.
