Nadur Youngsters move six points clear

Nadur Youngsters moved six points clear in the Melita First Division as they came from behind to beat Victoria Hotspurs 2-1 on Sunday.

Jose Filipe Aguiar put the Hotspurs ahead eight minutes in the second half but a brace by Claudio Antunes on the 65th and 82nd turned the score in their favour.

Meanwhile St. Lawrence Spurs moved fifth thanks to a 3-1 win over SK Victoria Wanderers.

Cedric Sciberras put the Spurs ahead on 36 minutes and a brace by William Barbosa on the 50th and 62nd increased the lead to 3-0. Sunday Baala converted a penalty on 63 minutes to score a consolation goal for the Wanderers.

Meanwhile in the Melita Second Division, Xaghra United defeated leaders Ghajnsielem.

Daniel Bartolo put Xaghra ahead on 24 minutes and although Charlon Tabone levelled matters on the 50th, Luke Attard notched the winner on the 82nd minute.

In another match, Gharb Rangers and Qala Saints shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw. John Rapa put Gharb ahead on 14 minutes, Daniel Muscat equalised on the half-hour, Justin Azzopardi made it 2-1 by converting a penalty on 67 minutes with Manuel Buttigieg equalising five minutes later.
