MFA starts to refund UEFA solidarity payments arrears

The Malta Football Association started to refund the sum of €36,725.75 – half of the arrears of the UEFA Solidarity Payments the association had withheld between seasons 2002/03 and 2007/08. This follows a decision of the Council of the Malta Football Association which had ratified a report by Board of Internal Auditors which had investigated the funds retained by the association and which were due to be distributed wholly to member clubs.

The presentation was held during a Youth FA event which was held at the Centenary Hall on Thursday. Darmanin Demajo was accompanied by Youth FA President Fr Hilary Tagliaferro.

UEFA Solidarity Payments resulting from the UEFA Champions League profit for season 2013/14 were presented during the same event. The amount of €290,918 was distributed to fifty-three member clubs and nurseries.
