January transfer window closes with Temile signing for Naxxar

The January transfer window closed on Monday at 19:00 with the signing of Frank Temile for Naxxar Lions after being released by Qormi.

Brazilian striker Mateus Ribeiro dos Santos joined Sliema Wanderers from Mosta. On the other hand, Mosta managed to sign Gambian defender Ousman SM Koli. Senegalese striker Mouhamed Soly joined Tarxien Rainbows.

Hibernians strengthened their forward line with the signing of Brazilian Luis André and Serbian Marko Rajic.

Goalkeeper Mario Muscat came out of retirement to join Qormi.

Sliema Wanderers goalkeeper Daniel Balzan joined Pembroke Athleta in Division 1 with St. Andrews goalkeeper Sam Bartolo joining the Blues.

Naxxar will the the fourth Maltese club for Frank Temile who started his career in Malta with Valletta before moving to Ukraine where he signed for Dynamo Kyiv. He returned to Malta last year, joining Birkirkara, moving to Qormi this season.

Mateus Ribeiro played for a number of clubs in the lower divisions in Italy before joining Mosta this summer. In eleven matches, Mateus Ribeiro scored three.

Twenty-six year old Ousman Koli started his career in Gambia but then played in France, Slovenia and Bangladesh before moving back to Slovenia.

Twenty-five year old Mouhamed Soly played mainly in France apart from a short spell with Chernomorets Burgas in Bulgaria.

Luis André is twenty-six years old and this will be his first adventure outside Brazil. On the other hand, twenty-three year old Marko Rajic played in Serbia and Hungary so far.
