Josef Mansueto hands his resignation

Qormi coach Josef Mansueto handed his resignation from the post of Qormi FC coach after they suffered a seventh consecutive league defeat, losing 0-1 to neighbours Zebbug Rangers.

Mansueto had joined Qormi last season, serving as assistant coach to Tommaso Volpi and Karel Zeman, taking over as coach this summer.

After a rather shaky start despite a win in their first outing, three consecutive wins put Qormi in joint-fourth place after nine matches but from then onwards, they only obtained four draws, losing their last seven matches.

In the FA Trophy, Qormi did better as they eliminated Qrendi 3-0 and beat Floriana 3-1.

Former Hibernians and Valletta coach Mark Miller is the favourite for the post of Qormi coach. Miller had also served as player-coach for Sliema Wanderers and Floriana and coach of the the Malta Under-21 side.
