Ten Premier League players suspended

Ten Premier League players were handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner after the weekend’s matches.

Gianmarco Piccioni and Bojan Kaljevic (Balzan), Ryan Scicluna (Birkirkara), Clyde Borg and Steve Pisani (Floriana), Rodolfo Soares dos Santos (Hibs), Ryan Grech and Mateus Ribeiro dos Santos (Mosta), Emmanuel Ibok Edet (Naxxar) and Ryan Sammut (Tarxien) are therefore ruled out of the weekend’s matches.

Balzan will be without Piccioni and Kaljevic for the clash with Pietà. Mateus Ribeiro who joined Sliema from Mosta on Monday would not be able to face his former club. Ryan Grech is also ruled out of the same game. Clyde Borg and Steve Pisani miss the game against Qormi while Ibok Edet is unavailable for the clash with Zebbug.

Rodolfo Soares and Ryan Sammut will miss the Tarxien-Hibs derby while Ryan Scicluna is ruled out of the weekend’s big clash against Valletta.

In Division 1, Lydon Micallef (Birzebbuga), Jean Pierre Attard (Melita) and Clayton Micallef (Mqabba) were banned for one match while Ryan Zammit and Joshua Sciarrino (Dingli) and Patrick Briscoe White were handed a one-match ban in Division 2.

Adrian Dominicus (Ta’ Xbiex) was suspended for three matches while Kurt Zahra (Attard), Sinclair Camilleri (Kirkop), Paul Psaila and Stefan Micallef (Luqa), John Louis Sammut (Marsaskala), Gilbert Camilleri (Mdina), Nicholas Abela (Mgarr) and Francesco Azzopardi (Mtarfa) were banned for one match. Kalkara coach Louis Facciol was handed a two-match ban.
