Qormi hope to upset Hibs in chase for double

Hibernians and Qormi, finalists of the FA Trophy in 2012 and 2013, will be facing each other once again in the FA Trophy, sponsored by Attian Group, this time in the second semi-final at the National Stadium on Sunday, kick-off at 17:00.

After winning the BOV Premier League, the Paolites target their first double since season 1981/82. Throughout their Premier League campaign, they lost just one game, losing the other points in five draws.

Qormi, on the other hand, managed to avoid relegation after finishing eighth despite a poor run of fifteen matches without a win, including seven consecutive defeats. However former Hibs coach Mark Miller will be hoping to lead Qormi to the final. This would be their fourth FA Trophy final in six years although they are still chasing their first success.

On the way to the semi-finals, Hibernians defeated St. George’s 2-0, Nadur Youngsters 3-1 and Balzan 5-4 on penalties. Qormi, on the other hand, beat Qrendi 3-0, Floriana 3-1 and Sirens 7-0.

Hibernians defeated Qormi 2-1, 6-0 and 2-1 in the BOV Premier League this season.
