Beach Soccer national team on training camp in Italy

As part of the preparation for the the 1st edition of the Mediterranean Beach Games which will be held in Pescara between August and September, the Malta Beach Soccer national team went for a four-day training camp in Viareggo, Italy.

The team, which is made up of ten players and which has been training on average three times a week in Għajn Tuffieħa, had the opportunity to play a friendly match against Italian Serie A side Livorno Beach Soccer, beating them 2-1. George Frendo and Ronnie Celeste scored the goals for Malta.

The ten players who made the trip to Italy were Roderick Camilleri, Ivan Cassar, Diego Armando Cucciardi, Julian Briffa, Ronald Spina, George Frendo, Gilbert Martin, Ronnie Celeste, Mark Camilleri and Justin Camilleri.

The Malta Beach Soccer Association thanked the Malta Olympic Committee and the Malta Football Association for their support.
