Fixtures for 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers released

Malta will be hosting Scotland on Saturday 4 September 2016 before facing England at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 8th October. Dates for Group F of the 2018 FIFA World Cup European Zone qualifiers were released on Sunday.

Malta then travels to Vilnius to face Lithuania on Tuesday 11th October – just three days after the England clash. The national team hosts Slovenia on 11th November and after a four-month break, Malta hosts Slovakia on Sunday March 26, 2017. On Saturday June 10th, 2017, Malta plays Slovenia away from home.

The long-awaited home clash against England is scheduled for Friday September 1st 2017 and the three days later, Malta faces Scotland away from home – on Monday 4th.

The final two matches will be played in October – a home match against Lithuania on Thursday October 5 and an away match against Slovakia three days later – Sunday 8.
