Valletta, Sliema and Senglea reach Luxol tournament semi-finals

Valletta, Sliema Wanderers and Senglea Athletic were the first three teams to reach the semi-finals of the St. Andrews Summer Friendship Cup being played at the Luxol Stadium.

In Group A, Valletta defeated Gzira United 1-0 thanks to a goal by Njongo Priso eight minutes in the second half. The Maroons lost goalkeeper Anthony Curmi injured and was replaced by Kyle Gerada.

Valletta lead the way with nine points, followed by Tarxien on three, Melita and Gzira 0.

In Group B, Sliema Wanderers and Senglea Athletic shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw. Miguel Ciantar put Senglea ahead on the 10th minute but Michele Sansone restored equilibrium for the Wanderers twelve minutes from time.

The Wanderers lead the way with seven points, followed by Senglea on five, St. Andrews 1 and Fgura 0.
