BOV Premier League resumes this weekend

The BOV Premier League will be back this weekend following a break due to the senior national team’s EURO qualifiers and the Under-21 side’s European Championship qualifiers. Two matches are scheduled at the Hibernians Stadium and another two at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

Mosta and Pembroke Athleta will be targeting a third consecutive win as they take on St. Andrews and Sliema Wanderers respectively. Champions Hibernians aim for a second win in the clash with Naxxar Lions while Floriana face Qormi in a clash between two teams who are still chasing their first points.

St. Andrews vs Mosta, kick-off 17:00 at Hibernians Stadium
Mosta hope to maintain their perfect start with a third consecutive win as they face a St. Andrews side without any points from the first two matches. The Blues defeated Floriana and Qormi while Luxol lost to Valletta and Pembroke.

Former Birkirkara striker Edin Murga is set to make his debut for Mosta after joining the club before the transfer deadline. Another new face for Mosta should be Gustavo de Paulo da Nobrega who has also just joined the club.

Floriana vs Qormi, kick-off 19:00 at Hibernians Stadium
Floriana and Qormi will be all out to claim their first three points in a direct clash between two teams who lost their first two matches. The Greens suffered two 1-2 defeats to Mosta and Hibernians while Qormi lost 1-2 to Pembroke and 0-1 to Mosta.

Enrico Pepe is ruled out through suspension for Floriana. Qormi, on the other hand, should have new signings Ousmane Sidibe and Terence Vella making their debut.

Sliema Wanderers vs Pembroke Athleta, kick-off 17:00 at Victor Tedesco Stadium
After losing 0-2 to Tarxien and 0-1 to Valletta, Sliema will be all out to claim the three points against newly-promoted Pembroke Athleta who claimed maximum points from the first two matches – defeating Qormi 2-1 and St. Andrews 4-3.

Kerlon Moura Souza is set to make his debut for the Wanderers while Glenn Zammit returns after serving a one-match ban. Pembroke, on the other hand, may have goalkeeper Matthew Farrugia making his first appearance after joining the club from Qormi.

Hibernians vs Naxxar Lions, kick-off 19:15 at Victor Tedesco Stadium
Following a draw with Balzan and a narrow win over Floriana, Hibernians will be aiming for the three points as they take on a Naxxar Lions side who lost 0-4 to Birkirkara and 0-2 to Balzan.

The Paolites should have Denni Rocha dos Santos making his debut after completing his move before the transfer deadline. Naxxar also strengthened their squad with the signing of Sead Hadzibulic.
