Floriana registered a second consecutive win as they defeated Naxxar Lions 1-0 a the National Stadium on Sunday. The Greens were clearly a better side but had to wait till late to notch the winning goal.

For Naxxar, this was the fourth defeat in as many matches, leaving them anchored at the bottom of the table without any points along with St. Andrews.

Floriana scored the all-important goal on 77 minutes when off a corner by Juninho Cabral from the right, the ball was deflected and went into the direction of Mario Fontanella who placed it at the back of the net past goalkeeper Luke Pecorella.
