League champions Luxol were handed a comfortable start to their title defence when they were drawn against newcomers Sliema Wanderers as the draws of the Gatorade Futsal League and Knock-Out Competition were held at the Corradino Pavillion.

Last year’s play-off finalists Valletta and Hamrun Spartans will start their commitments against Sirens and Lija Athletic respectively.

In the Knock-Out, the St. Andrews side received a bye, along with Sirens, to the second round of the competition.

Matches from the first round will be played between October 5 and 9 while the league is scheduled to start in November.

The FMA will eventually decide who will be Luxol’s opponent in the Gatorade Super Cup as last year’s Knock-Out finalists Balzan withdrew from futsal competitions.
