BOV Women’s Second Division kicks-off

Tarxien Rainbows opened their commitments in the BOV Women’s Second Division with a convincing 3-0 win over the new team, Kirkop United Team B at the Charles Abela Stadium.

The Rainbows opened the score just after a couple minutes through Chloe Ann Ellul when she fired a shot from outside the box which gave the Kirkop goalkeeper no chance. Steph Cutajar doubled the score on the 25th minute when she netted from the rebound. Kim Borg sealed the win in the 80th minute when she coolly put the ball past Kirkop’s goalkeeper to conclude the match at 3-0 and give maximum points to the Rainbows.

Hamrun Spartans have already stepped up their game with a jubilant win over Mosta by five goals to one at the Mgarr Ground.

Kim Micallef put Hamrun in front after 4 minutes when she converted from the penalty spot. Christine Ortiz made it 2-0 for the Spartans while few minutes later, Nicole Sciberras reduced the gap when she netted for Mosta to end the first 45 minutes at 2-1. Amanda Atkins and Janice Kokavessis made sure of the win when they scored a goal each in a span of 2 minutes leaving no chance to their opponents to settle into the game. Christine Ortiz scored her second personal goal of the game in the dying minutes concluding the match at 5-1, giving the Spartans their first three points.

Swieqi United registered a 3-0 win over Sliema Wanderers at the Zebbug Ground in another match.

Krista Montfort put Swieqi ahead after just nine minutes. Kate Galea doubled the score ten minutes from half-time and two minutes in the secoind half, Emma Moore sealed the issue with a third goal.
