Balzan will be all out to claim the three points on Sunday as they take on Mosta in one of the four BOV Premier League matches in programme at the National Stadium and Victor Tedesco Stadium.

Valletta hope to bounce back with a win over Naxxar, Birkirkara face Qormi while Sliema aim to return to winning ways as they take on St. Andrews.

Valletta vs Naxxar Lions, kick-off 17:00 at National Stadium
After suffering back-to-back defeats to Balzan and Hibernians, no result other than a win would satisfy Valletta as they take on a Naxxar Lions side which lost their first five matches. Naxxar are finding life difficult in the Premier League this season. In fact, they scored just one goal in five matches and suffered sixteen.

David Fenech is ruled out for Naxxar as he serves a suspension while Valletta defender Jonathan Caruana is ruled out injured.

Qormi vs Birkirkara, kick-off 19:00 at National Stadium
After collecting four points from the last two matches, Qormi hope to continue their recovery with another positive result as they take on Birkirkara. On Wednesday, they managed to hold Sliema in a goalless draw.

The Stripes, on the other hand, dropped seven points in the last four matches after losing to Valletta and being held in draws by Tarxien and by Mosta on Tuesday. A win is a must in order not to lose ground with the teams on top.

Mauricio Mazzetti is suspended for Birkirkara while Nikola Vukanac is recovering from an injury.

St. Andrews vs Sliema Wanderers, kick-off 17:00 at Victor Tedesco Stadium
Sliema target a fourth consecutive positive result as they face bottom-placed St. Andrews, who like Naxxar, are still chasing their first points this season. The Blues were held in a draw by Qormi after claiming maximum points from the previous games against Mosta and Pembroke.

Mark Scerri is ruled out injured for the Blues.

Mosta vs Balzan, kick-off 19:15 at Victor Tedesco Stadium
A win for Balzan would put Oliver Spiteri’s side on top of the BOV Premier League table along with Hibernians while extending their positive run. Balzan won three out of the matches played so far with the other two ending in draws, including the one in the opening game against Hibs.

Mosta, on the other hand, won their first three games and although they lost to Sliema, they bounced back with a draw against Birkirkara to move third. A win for Ivan Zammit’s side would put them in second place.
