BOV Division 3: Jurgen Gerada scores four in 6-2 win for Attard

Attard registered a most comfortable 6-2 win over Xghajra Tornados at the Sirens Stadium in one of six matches from the BOV Third Division on Sunday.

Attard had a perfect start taking a two-goal lead within the first nine minutes as Mark Grech put them ahead on the 4th minute and Andrew Agius doubled the score on the 9th. Jurgen Gerada scored a third goal on the 33rd, adding another two goals on the 58th and 79th. Royter Degiorgio pulled one back on 81 minutes for Xghajra but Jurgen Gerada scored another on the 85th. Three minutes later, Clayton Micallef scored a second goal for Xghajra.

A brace by Florin Anton gave Ghaxaq a 2-0 win over Kalkara in another match at the Sirens Stadium. The Romanian converted a penalty on the 48th and scored another ten minutes later.

Mdina Knights defeated Luqa St. Andrew’s 2-0 at the Luxol Stadium. An own goal by Ramon Bugeja on the 38th minute put Mdina ahead and on the 90th minute, Andrea Spiteri scored a second goal to seal the issue.

In another match, Ta’ Xbiex defeated Mtarfa 2-1. Riccardo Napoli put Ta’ Xbiex ahead on 22 minutes and doubled the score four minutes in the second half. Keithrick Sant pulled one back on 86 minutes for Mtarfa.

At the Charles Abela Stadium, Dingli Swallows came back from two goals down to earn a point in a dramatic 2-2 draw. Santa Lucia went two goals ahead thanks to a brace by Mohammed Telessi Senussi on the 4th and the 19th. Tyrone Pace pulled one back on 55 minutes and three minutes in added time, Jonathan Pace notched the equaliser.

In another match, St. Venera Lightnings were held in a 1-1 draw by Marsaskala. Yau Mun Law put the Lightnings ahead on 34 minutes but Mark Spiteri rescued a point for Marsaskala two minutes in added time.

Mdina lead the way with 6 points, followed by Attard, St. Venera and Marsaskala on 4, Ta’ Xbiex and Luqa 3, Dingli 2, Santa Lucia, Kalkara and Xghajra 1, Marsaxlokk and Mtarfa 0.
