BOV Division 2: Fourth win in a row for Marsa

Marsa maintained their perfect record with a fourth win in as many matches in the BOV Second Division as they defeated Birzebbuga St. Peter’s 1-0 at the Luxol Stadium.

Ryan Mifsud gave Marsa a dramatic win with a goal on the 90th.

Zejtun Corinthians moved second thanks to a 2-0 win over Qrendi at the Charles Abela Stadium. Margheith Scicluna put Zejtun ahead on 32 minutes and Jair Nelson Escobar Ortiz doubled the score ten minutes in the second half.

In another match, Sirens were held in a 1-1 draw by Zabbar St. Patrick. Daniel Cremona put Sirens ahead on 53 minutes but Zabbar levelled matters through Shalon Diacono on the 75th.

Msida St. Joseph collected their first point as they held Kirkop United in a 2-2 draw at the Centenary Stadium. Miguel Grech put Msida ahead on the 24th, ANdre Cutajar levelled matters on the 70th but two minutes later, Ryan Cutajar made it 2-1 for the Saints. However Kirkop rescued a penalty thanks to an Alex Ribic penalty on the 92nd.

Gharghur returned to winning ways as they defeated Siggiewi 1-0 at the Sirens Stadium. At the same venue, Mellieha and Zurrieq shared the spoils in a goalless draw.

At the Luxol Stadium, Swieqi United defeated Mgarr United 2-0 thanks to goals by Matthew Asciak on the 3rd and Kenneth Ekezie on the 28th.

Marsa lead the way with 12 points, followed by Zejtun on 9, Sirens and Gharghur 8, Qrendi 7, Siggiewi and Swieqi 6, Mellieha and Zabbar 5, Birzebbuga 4, Kirkop 2, Mgarr and Msida 1 and Zurrieq -1.
