The Malta Football Referees Association (MFRA) condemned verbal attacks on referees Marco Borg and Malcolm Spiteri during the weekend.

The MFRA stressed that it will be fully supporting these referees should they feel the need to safeguard themselves by taking legal action.

Without prejudice, the association is also asking Pembroke Athleta coach Winston Muscat to withdraw serious allegations with regards to referee Malcolm Spiteri with immediate effect.

Otherwise, the MFRA reserves the right to take action to safeguard the interest of its members.
