Mqabba registered their first win in the BOV First Division as they beat Melita 2-0 at the Centenary Stadium on Saturday.

Isaac Galea put Mqabba ahead on the 9th and four minutes from time, Stephane Manasse Sylla doubled the score to enable them to join St. George’s and San Gwann on the five-point mark.

In another match, Pietà Hotspurs defeated Lija Athletic 2-1.

The Hotspurs took the lead on the 12th thanks to Christian Grech. Jorge Garcia Vidal levelled matters on the 45th but Neil Pace Cocks notched the winner five minutes from time.

Gzira lead the way with 16 points, followed by Hamrun on 14, Lija on 12, Pietà 11, Vittoriosa, Rabat, Senglea and Zebbug 10, Melita 9, Fgura 7, St. George’s, Mqabba and San Gwann 5 and Gudja 3.
