Blacks move top of Gozo Football League First Division

Ghajnsielem are the new leaders of the Gozo Football League First Division as they defeated St. Laurence Spurs 1-0 on Sunday.

Joseph Vella’s penalty on the 33rd minute put Ghajnsielem one point ahead of Xewkija and two ahead of Victoria Hotspurs.

A brace by Miguel Montano on the 53rd and 94th gave Victoria Hotspurs a 2-0 win over Oratory Youths in a Victoria derby. On the other hand, Kercem Ajax defeated SK Victoria Wanderers courtesy of Claudio Antunes on the half-hour.

In the Gozo Football League Second Division, Nadur Youngsters moved to just two points behind leaders Xaghra United as they defeated Zebbug Rovers 2-1. Elijah Xuereb put Nadur ahead on the 11th and Brandon Said doubled the score on the 68th with Frank Attard scoring a consolation goal on the 82nd.

Gharb Rangers, on the other hand, beat Sannat Lions 3-1. A brace by Christopher Attard on the 19th and 39th gave Gharb a 2-0 lead with Sylvan Galea adding another on the 58th. Daniel Borg pulled one back for Sannat on the 80th.
