Hibernians target fourth successive win

Hibernians will be aiming for a fourth consecutive win on Sunday as they take on Naxxar Lions in one of the four BOV Premier League matches in programme at the Hibernians Stadium and Victor Tedesco Stadium.

Balzan and Floriana seek maximum points from the clashes with Tarxien Rainbows and Qormi respectively while Mosta start as firm favourites to take home the three points as they take on bottom-placed St. Andrews.

Qormi vs Floriana, kick-off 14:00 at Hibernians Stadium
After losing to Hibernians on Wednesday, Floriana will be all out to return to winning ways as they take on Qormi. The Greens would join Birkirakra on the 26-point mark, five behind the leaders. Qormi, however, hope to end their winless streak after going nine matches without a win. They are coming from a 1-3 defeat to Mosta on Tuesday.

Matthew Calleja Cremona and Jurgen Pisani are ruled out injured for Floriana. Noah Olawole Ojuola and Terence Vella are unavailable for Qormi.

In the first round, Floriana defeated Qormi 3-0.

Naxxar Lions vs Hibernians, kick-off 16:00 at Hibernians Stadium
Hibernians target a fourth successive win after a fine comeback enabled them to beat Floriana 4-2. A win on Sunday would put them once again on level points with Valletta.

Andrew Scicluna is suspended for Naxxar but Angus Buhagiar and Gnenegbe return after serving a one-match ban. For Hibernians, Rodolfo Soares is still recovering from an injury.

In the first round, Hibs defeated Naxxar 4-1.

Mosta vs St. Andrews, kick-ff 14:00 at Victor Tedesco Stadium
St. Andrews continue to chase their first points as they take on Mosta who are eager to claim the three points in their bid to keep the pace with the top six teams after beating Qormi 3-1 on Tuesday. The Saints, on the other hand, suffered the thirteenth defeat of the season, losing 0-4 to Pembroke Athleta.

Edafe Uzeh is ruled out through suspension. Mosta, on the other hand, should be in full strength.

In the first round, Mosta beat St. Andrews 3-0.

Tarxien Rainbows vs Balzan, kick-off 16:15 at Victor Tedesco Stadium
After losing narrowly to Birkirkara, Tarxien hope to bounce back with a win over Balzan who seek maximum points in order to move back to just two points behind the leaders. For the Rainbows, the defeat to Birkirkara was the first after five positive results. Oliver Spiteri’s side defeated Naxxar 4-2 on Tuesday.

Balzan’s Elkin Serrano and Tarxien’s Brandon Muscat are suspended.

The two teams shared the spoils in a goalless draw in the first round.
