Six Premier League players suspended

Six Premier League players were handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches.

Frank Temile (Birkirkara), Jurgen Borg and Andrei Agius (Hibs), Angus Buhagiar (Naxxar), Michael Johnson (St. Andrews) and Ebiabowei Baker (Tarxien) are therefore ruled out of the weekend’s matches.

Hibernians therefore could not count on Jurgen Borg and Andrei Agius for the big match against Valletta on Sunday. Temile skips the game against Mosta, Ebiabowei Baker and Angus Buhagiar the clash between Tarxien and Naxxar while Michael Johnson will miss the game against Floriana.

Meanwhile Floriana physio Luke Busuttil Leaver was banned for two matches and Naxxar Lions coach Clive Mizzi was suspended for one match.

Gilmar da Silva Ribeiro of Hibernians was banned for one match in the FA Trophy and is therefore ruled out of the fourth round match against Pembroke.

In the First Division, Daniel Balzan (Gudja), Alan Tabone (Hamrun), Christian Grech (Pietà), Clive Spiteri (Vittoriosa) and Kurt Zammit (Zebbug) was suspended for one match. Gudja official Michele Caruana was banned for one match. Josef Felice (Kirkop) was handed a two-match ban in the Second Division while Ryan Tanti (Msida) and Ryan Caruana (Siggiewi) was suspended for one match. Zachary Micallef (Ta’ Xbiex) was banned for three matches while Mark Vassallo (Dingli), Samba Camara (Luqa), Daniel Cluett (Mdina), Brandon Gafa (Sta. Venera), Miguel Agius and Zachary Micallef (Ta’ Xbiex).
