Seven Premier League players suspended

Seven Premier League players were handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following last weekend’s matches.

Paul Fenech (Balzan), Matthew Calleja Cremona (Floriana), Bjorn Kristensen (Hibs), Angus Buhagiar (Naxxar), Terence Agius and Siraj Arab Eddin (Pembroke) and Ian Azzopardi (Valletta) are therefore ruled out of the weekend’s matches.

Paul Fenech is ruled out of the game against Qormi, Calleja Cremona the game against Sliema, Kristensen misses the game against Mosta, Buhagiar, Agius and Arab the clash between Pembroke and Naxxar and Ian Azzopardi the game against Tarxien.

Mosta team manager Trevor Fenech was banned for two matches.

In Division 1, Mqabba duo Isaac Galea and Brandon Grech were both banned for three matches while Chris Grech (Gudja), Melvin Busuttil (Hamrun), Aud-Gustine James Obaje (Senglea), Romario Brignone (St. George’s) and Milan Lukic (Vittoriosa) were handed a one-match ban. Senglea kit-manager Leonard Underwood was suspended for one match.

Keiht Fedele (Gharghur), Shawn Deguara (Mellieha) and Anthony Bonello (Zabbar) were banned for one match in Division 2 while Clinton Camilleri (Kalkara), Steve Buhagiar and Mark Spiteri (Marsaskala), Isaac Zammit Cordina (Mtarfa), Shawn D’Amato (Santa Lucia) and Timothy Portelli (Ta’ Xbiex). Marsaskala coach Vesko Petrovic was handed a two-match ban.
