Hibs girls make it thirteen wins in a row

Champions Hibernians extended their perfect record to thirteen matches as they defeated Kirkop United 5-0 in a match from the BOV Women’s First Division at the Zebbug Ground on Wednesday. A win which enables them to stay eleven points clear of second-placed Birkirkara.

Shona Zammit notched a hat-trick with Dorianne Theuma and Jade Flask scoring the other two goals for the Paolites.

A goal by Stephania Farrugia gave Birkirkara a narrow win over Raiders (Luxol) while Mgarr United defeated Pembroke Athleta 3-0.

The BOV Women’s First Division League resumes in a month’s time as the fixtures had to be changed due to the women’s national team’s participation in the Aphrodite Cup in Cyprus. However the Women’s Knock-Out will be played next week with the most attractive fixture being the clash between Birkirkara and Hibernians on Wednesday

In the BOV Women’s Second Division, Gozo returned to winning ways as they defeated second-placed Swieqi United 3-1. A win which puts the Gozitans nine points clear of Swieqi.

Hamrun Spartans move third, three points behind Swieqi, following a 4-3 win over Sliema Wanderers.

In another match, Mosta defeated Kirkop United B 1-0.
