Balzan, Valletta aim at extending winning streak

Balzan and Valletta will be all out to extend their positive run in the BOV Premier League as they take on Tarxien Rainbows and Naxxar Lions in the two matches in programme at the Hibernians Stadium on Tuesday.

In the first match, after beating Mosta 3-0 during the weekend, Balzan target a ninth consecutive win in order to stay clear of fourth-placed Birkirkara. However this will be no easy task as they are yet to beat Tarxien this season following a goalless draw in the first round and a shock 0-3 defeat in the second. Tarxien, on the other hand, will be chasing another positive result as they returned to winning ways, beating Naxxar Lions 3-0.

Samir Arab and Pedrinho will be back for Balzan after serving a one-match ban.

Meanwhile in the second match, Valletta will be aiming for a seventh win and a fourteenth positive result as they take on a Naxxar Lions side which lost ten out of the last twelve matches. During the weekend, Valletta beat Qormi 2-0 while Naxxar lost 0-3 to Tarxien.

Federico Falcone will be back for Valletta after serving a one-match ban.

Valletta defeated Naxxar 3-1 and 2-1 respectively.
