Juninho Cabral sinks Birkirkara

Substitute Juninho Cabral scored seven minutes from time as Floriana defeated Birkirkara 1-0 to join them in fourth place on the 27-points, three points behind third-placed Balzan.

For the Stripes, this was the third defeat in five matches. The Greens, on the other hand, returned to winning ways after being held in a draw by Sliema Wanderers last week.

The Greens were unlucky not to take the lead on the 75th when Juninho Cabral hit the upright thanks to a direct freekick

However Floriana scored the all-important goal on the 83rd minute when off a cross by Nicolas Chiesa from the right, Juninho Cabral slotted the ball past goalkeeper Ini Etim Akpan.
