BOV Division 2: Marsa move back in second place

Marsa moved back in second place in the BOV Second Division, four points behind leaders Gharghur and one ahead of third-placed Sirens as they defeated Swieqi United 2-0 at the Luxol Stadium on Saturday.

A goal by Benjamin Ayuba on the 3rd minute put Marsa ahead and Darrell Grech doubled the score on the 75th

Zurrieq returned to winning ways as they defeated neighbours Kirkop United 2-0 at the Charles Abela Stadium. Zurrieq managed to break the deadlock five minutes in the second half thanks to Julian Briffa and Daniel Zammit doubled the score six minutes later.

Siggiewi scored twice in the first half as they beat Mgarr United 2-0 at the Sirens Stadium. Jason Camilleri put them ahead on the 17th and Stephen Ngoh Eseme doubled the score on the 38th.

Qrendi left it till late to beat Birzebbuga St. Peter’s 2-0 at the Charles Abela Stadium. Dylan Zarb put Qrendi ahead five minutes from time and Mathieu Floran doubled the score on the 96th.

Mellieha held Zabbar St. Patrick in a 1-1 draw at the Sirens Stadium. Jean Claude Cesare put the Saints ahead on the hour but Mellieha were quick to equalise three minutes later through Wayne Borg St. John.

Zejtun Corinthians came from behind to beat bottom-placed Msida St Joseph 2-1. Dylan Attard put Msida ahead on the 6th minute but Ryan Cauchi equalised two minutes from the end of the first half and Jamie Mifsud made it 2-1 three minutes in the second half.

Gharghur lead the way with 46 points, followed by Marsa on 42, Sirens 41, Zabbar 33, Siggiewi 32, Zejtun 31, Birzebbuga 29, Qrendi 28, Mgarr 27, Mellieha 23, Swieqi 19, Kirkop 18, Zurrieq 9 and Msida 5.
