Moldova beat Andorra in friendly match at Hibernians Stadium

The Hibernians Stadium played host to a full international friendly match between Moldova and Andorra on Monday. Following a goalless draw with Malta on Thursday, Malta defeated Andorra 1-0 thanks to a goal by Igor Armas just before half-time.

The match was controlled by the referee from San Marino Johnny Casanova. He was assisted by Maltese officials Duncan Sultana and Roberto Vella as assistant referees and Esther Azzopardi as fourth official.

This was not the first time that the Hibernians Stadium hosted a full international match although this was the first time that Malta was not involved. In November 2001, the Hibernians Stadium hosted a friendly match between Malta and Canada which Malta won 2-0. Malta then suffered two defeats in another two friendly matches at the Hibs Stadium, losing 1-4 to Lithuania in November 2006 and to Bulgaria in November 2009.
