Come Together Football Festival organised by Sliema Nursery

The Sliema Wanderers Football Nursery will be organising the first edition of the Come Together Football Festival. Funds from this event will go towards the Inspire Foundation.

Details about the festival were revealed by Sliema Wanderers Technical Director Stephen Azzopardi. He explained that Sliema accepted a request by Inspire to organise this event as it will not only fulfill the club’s social responsability towards such organisations but will also help in the holistic development of the children attending the nursery.

Over three hundred boys and girls forming twenty-eight teams from eleven nurseries, namely Sliema Wanderers, Floriana, Paola Hibs, Swieqi United, Melita, Hamrun Spartans, Żejtun Corinthians, Tarxien Rainbows, Marsaxlokk, Qormi and Zebbuġ Rangers are taking part in the festival which is open for the Under-7 and Under-8 categories.

Parliamentary Secretary for Research, Innovation, Youth and Sport Chris Agius said that once again sports was a means to show solidarity and said that such initiatives help children develop physically and build their character while showing solidarity with others.

Inspire Foundation Fundraising Events Manager Giovanna Mirabile Bartolo thanked the sponsors, namely TeamSport and Kristal Water (GSD) and thanked the MFA Grassroots Department for their support.
