Relegation issue still in balance as Qormi hold Naxxar in a draw

A goal four minutes from time enabled Qormi to earn their first point in over four months after holding Naxxar Lions in a 1-1 draw at the National Stadium.

A draw which leaves the relegation issue unresolved as Naxxar are now five points ahead of St. Andrews and six ahead of Qormi with two games to go. Next week, Naxxar take on St. Andrews and Qormi face Sliema while the following week, Qormi take on St. Andrews and Naxxar meet Sliema.

After missing a couple of good chances, Naxxar managed to break the deadlock on the 72nd minute thanks to Daren Falzon who hit home from close range following an assist by Demba Toure.

However four minutes from time, Qormi levelled matters thanks to Noah Olawole Ojuola who slammed the ball home following a corner from the left.

In stoppage time, Ryan Micallef was sent off for Qormi after receiving a second yellow card.
