Malta down another place in FIFA Ranking

Malta fell another place in the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking and is now ranked 165th as the ranking for May was released on Thursday.

Among the other European countries, Malta is still ranked 50th. Lying just ahead of Malta are Lithuania (138, up 1), FYR Macedonia (141), Luxembourg (145, down 1) and Moldova (156). On the other hand, trailing Malta are Liechtenstein (173), San Marino (200) and Andorra (202).

Malta will be in action once again in two friendly matches later this month against the Czech Republic and Austria. Both games will be played in Austria.

Meanwhile with no A-international matches played in April, the May edition of the FIFA/Cola-Cola World Ranking provided a brief moment of security for teams eager to hold onto their top positions.

All teams in the Top 50 maintained their positions this month. Argentina lead the way ahead of Belgium, Chile, Colombia, Germany, Spain, Brazil, Portugal, Uruguay and England.
