UEFA Women’s Champions League: Difficult start for Hibernians

women-champions-leagueHibernians lost 5-0 to Konak Belediyespor in the first match from Group 9 of the UEFA Women’s Champions League at the Sportpark Vondersweijde – Oldenzaal, the Netherlands on Wednesday.

The Turkish side went two goals ahead with the first thirteen minutes after taking the lead on the 7th minute through Cosmina Duşa and six minutes later, Hilal Başkol doubled the score. Sevgi Çınar added another seven minutes from the end of the first half. Five minutes in the second half, Ceren Nurlu scored a fourth goal with Esra Erol adding another one minute later.

Hibs face hosts Twente on Thursday. Twente beat Ferencvaros 2-1 in another match on Tuesday.
