Luke Gambin set to be banned for two or more matches

fifaMalta international midfielder Luke Gambin is set to be banned for two or more matches after being sent off in last Sunday’s European Qualifier against Scotland after FIFA started disciplinary proceedings in his regards.

Luke Gambin, who was sent off on the 90th minute, therefore risks missing the clash with Lithuania in Vilnius in October and possibly that against Slovenia at Ta’ Qali in November, apart from the next game against England in Wembley. The Malta Football Association could only appeal if the ban is for more than three game.

No disciplinary proceedings will be taken against Jonathan Caruana, who was sent off on the 59th minute, who therefore receives the automatic one-match ban and is ruled out of the England game.

  2. Bad enough he was sent off on the day for nothing with clear evidence that there was no contact and the mfa are just going to accept this ruling i tell you this if this happened to a nation like England Brazil italy etc fifa would of overturned the suspension and suspended the ref but because it’s only malta they are not only leaving caruana’s suspension and not suspending the referee for poor officiating they are going to listen to his notes and extend gambin’s suspension
