BOV Women’s League kicks-off

BOV-Women-First-DivisionThe BOV Women’s First Division kicked off this week with the first two matches with champions Hibernians claiming their first three points in Gozo and challengers Birkirkara being held in a draw by Mgarr United.

At the Kercem Ajax Stadium on Sunday, Hibernians defeated newly-promoted Gozo 2-1. Corissa Vella White put the Paolites ahead on teh 7th minute but Jelena Sakic levelled matters on the 56th. However fourteen minutes from time, Ylenia Carabott notched the winner for Jesmond Zammit’s side.

On the other hand, Mgarr United and Birkirkara shared the spoils in a goalless draw at the Mgarr Ground on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, Kirkop United beat Raiders (Luxol) 2-0 at the Charles Abela Stadium. Liis Pello put Kirkop ahead on the 27th and Demi Magrin doubled the score two minutes in the second half.

BOV-Women-Second-DivisionIn the BOV Women’s Second Division, Mosta beat Hamrun Spartans 4-0 at the Zebbug Ground thanks to goals by Rossella D’Antuono, Francesca Zarb, Raisa Calleja and Nicole Sciberras.

On the other hand, goals by Kimberley Magro and Kim Borg gave Tarxien Rainbows a 2-0 win over Kirkop United Team B.

In the Women’s Under-17 League, Tarxien Rainbows and Gozo shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw, Raiders (Luxol) and Mosta earned a point each in a goalless draw, Mgarr United defeated Kirkop United 4-1 while BIrkirkara and Hibernians both registered comfortable wins. Hibs beat Fgura United 10-0 and Birkirkara beat Hamrun 13-0.
