Women’s Under-17 side loses to Sweden

women-under-17-161006The Malta women’s Under-17 side lost 0-3 to Sweden in a match from Group 2 of the UEFA Women’s Under-17 Championship qualifying round at the Pampeloponnisiako Stadium in Patras, Greece on Thursday.

Emma Engström put Sweden ahead on the 16th minute and Agnes Nyberg doubled the score on the 64th. Malta captain Leanne Cefai was sent off on the 70th minute and two minutes later, Beatrice Persson scored Sweden’s third goal.

Malta faces hosts Greece on Saturday. Greece defeated Montenegro 4-0 in another match on Thursday.
