Hibernians target win to keep the pace with with top teams

BOV-Premier-LeagueAfter Balzan, Birkirkara and Valletta all registered wins on Saturday, Hibernians will be all out to return to winning ways and claim the three points as they take on St. Andrews in one of the two BOV Premier League matches in programme at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Sunday.

The Paolites were held in draws by Gzira and Floriana in their last two outings and a win over the Saints would put them once again in third place, on level points with Valletta.

Meanwhile after defeating Pembroke 4-1 last week, St. Andrews target another positive result which would enable them to climb further up in the table. They are currently joint-third from bottom on nine points with Gzira and Tarxien.

Apart from Rui da Gracia Gomes, Hibs coach Mark Miller could not count on Clayton Failla, Timothy Tabone Desira and Andrew Cohen. St. Andrews, on the other hand, will be once again without the injured Daniel Brandle.

In the first game, former Macedonian international Artim Shaqiri will lead Pembroke Athleta for the first time as they take on Sliema Wanderers. Pembroke collected just four points from the first eight matches and are coming from a 1-4 defeat to St. Andrews.

The Wanderers, on the other hand, are coming from three consecutive wins and therefore hope to make it four wins in a row which would put them in fourth or fifth place.

Sliema will be without Stefano Bianciardi and John Mintoff while Pembroke could not count on Asani Djeljilj and Luke Montebello.
