Five Premier League players suspended

nike-ordem-ta-qaliFive Premier League players were handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches.

Enrico Pepe (Floriana), Jamie Azzopardi (Gzira), Joseph Essien Mbong (Hibs), Kurt Magro (Mosta) and Peter Xuereb (Sliema) are therefore ruled out of next weekend’s matches.

Pepe and Azzopardi are ruled out of Floriana vs Gzira, Xuereb and Magro will miss Sliema vs Mosta while Mbong is ruled out of the game against Birkirkara.

Meanwhile Clive Fenech (Fgura), Nelson Bayiha (Kercem), Agatino Sicali (Marsa), Hubert Vella (Mellieha), Joseph Paul Zammit (Mgarr), Mattia Mentosa, Kevin Camilleri and Anthony Bonello (St. George’s), Dillon Pace (Zabbar) and Clayton Giordimaina (Zejtun) were all banned for one match after the FA Trophy second round matches. Frankie Camilleri of Victoria Hotspurs was banned for one year.

St. George’s club official Gino Delceppo and Zejtun official Roderick Gafa were banned for two matches, Zejtun goalkeepers’ coach Jurgen Abela was suspended for four matches while Birzebbuga teamm manager Jurgen Mifsud was banned for six matches.
