Valletta agree three-year sponsorship deal with Iniala Group

valletta-inialaFollowing the announcement of a sponsorship by Von der Heyden Group earlier this month, Valletta and Iniala Group announced the signing of a three-year sponsorship agreement during a press conference at the club premises on Tuesday.

Englishman Mark Weingard, founder of Iniala Group, was appointed as Valletta FC vice-president. Malta has been the home of the Iniala Group since 2013. In this relatively short time, the company has become instrumental in the development of several offices, hotel and residential projects across the country. The company plans housing for one thousand residents in Valletta by 2025 and a hotel on St. Barbara Bastions in 2017.

Aside from sponsoring the team, Iniala Group is working hand-in-hand with the club on assisting the local community and enhancing youth development.

Valletta FC president Victor Sciriha said that after bowing out of the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League after two narrow defeats to Red Star Belgrade, the Citizens aim at moving one step further by reaching the third round. He said that such sponsors help the club increase their budget which would make them more competitive in their bid to achieve this.

Sciriha stressed that the ups and downs throughout the seaon, he was sure that Valletta will be challenging for all the honours at stake. He complained about the fact that they are yet to receive a reply from authorities regarding land to build training facilities for the club. He said that despite the club’s glorious history, they still have to rent facilities from other clubs.
