BOV Division 2: Qrendi lose unbeaten record after defeat to St. Patrick

St. Patrick registered a fifth consecutive win in the BOV Second Division as they defeated Qrendi 2-0 at the Charles Abela Stadium in one of six matches in programme on Saturday. This was also the first defeat for Qrendi this season.

Jean Claude Cesare converted a penalty on the 3rd minute and Shalon Diacono doubled the score on the 56th.

Zejtun Corinthians take sole leadership after beating Ghaxaq 2-0 at the Luxol Stadium. An own goal on the 22nd minute put the Corinthians ahead and Adrian Carabott doubled the score three minutes from time.

San Gwann defeated Birzebbuga St. Peter’s 2-0 at the Sirens Stadium courtesy of Ryan Zammit on the 11th and Jan Tanti on the 78th.

A goal by Firas Aboulezz on the 77th minute gave Attard a narrow win over Mellieha at the Sirens Stadium.

St. George’s beat Gudja United 4-1 at the Charles Abela Stadium. Jordie Delia put the Saints ahead on the 25th minute and eight minutes later, Trevor Templeman doubled the score. Moegamad Asad Boomgaard pulled one back on the 71st but Aaron Hili restored a two-goal lead on the 83rd and Dale Valletta sealed the issue with a fourth goal on the 93rd minute.

Siggiewi and Mgarr United shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at the Charles Abela Stadium. Julian Fenech Adami put Siggiewi ahead after just two minutes bu Mark Abela levelled matters for Mgarr on the 31st.

Zejtun lead the way with 29 points, followed by San Gwann and Qrendi on 26, Zabbar 25, Siggiewi 19, Attard, Birzebbuga and Swieqi 16, St. George’s 13, Mellieha and Marsaxlokk 8, Gudja and Mgarr 6 and Ghaxaq 5.
