Futsal: Luxol, Valletta keep perfect record

Luxol and Valletta are slowly emerging to be the main contenders for the Gatorade Futsal League as they maintained their hundred percent record with vital wins although the Citizens will have three points deducted following disciplinary sanctions at the end of last season.

Valletta managed to produce a great comeback as they saw off Hamrun Tre Angeli 7-4. It was the main match of this round as both teams gave a good show of futsal. Hamrun were in the driving seat for most of the game but the Citizens hit back and produced a dramatic finale that saw them take the three points at stake. As usual, former Hamrun player, Raphinha stole the show as he netted a poker while Melvin Borg, Xavier Saliba and Denis di Maio ensured a very important victory for their team. Hamrun, who played their best game this season, had Italian striker Daniele Degennaro hitting a hat-trick while Jason Mifsud was also on the mark.
