Futsal: Massive win for leaders Luxol

Luxol kept their winning momentum in the Gatorade Futsal League as their rivals Valletta returned to winning ways after seeing off Swieqi FC in the big match of the week.

Luxol scored very much at will to dump Zurrieq Wolves 23-0. Celino Alves, together with Nicola Del Re and Andy Mangion notched a poker apiece while Dejan Bizjak found the net three times. On the other hand, Zvezdan Vukovic, Frane Despotovic and Carl Azzopardi hit the target twice while Matthew Attard and an own goal rubberstamped Luxol’s massive victory.

In the main match of the week, Valletta saw off Swieqi FC 7-2. It was a match between two teams that showed determination and resilience. Valletta’s latest signing Daniel Aguilera notched a poker while Dyeymes Trindidate, Raphinha and Xavier Saliba were also on the mark. Swieqi, who tried hard to resist their opponents, had Boicho Marev and Andre Ciancio on target.

Hamrun Tre Angeli were on the positive mark after a 12-2 mauling over Qrendi. The Red/Blacks as expected dominated the match with Qrendi trying to create some counter attacks. They had they lethal strikers Cleavon Portelli and Everton Veve in splendid form as they scored five and four goals respectively. Luke Stivala was twice on the mark while Jason Mifsud completed the scoreline. Antonello Brincat and Bertram Azzopardi scored Qrendi’s consolation goals.

Even University of Malta are passing from a bright patch after seeing off Safi San Lorenzo 4-1 in a hard-fought match.
Sliema registered their second win on the run after beating Marsascala 11-7 while Msida and Mriehel shared the spoils in an exciting 7-7 scoreline. Finally Tarxien JMI finally broke their duck after winning Qormi Futsal 5-2.
