Heavy defeat for Under-21 side in Luxembourg

The Malta Under-21 side suffered a heavy 5-0 defeat to Luxembourg in a friendly match in Kehlen on Thursday.

The hosts took the lead on the 10th minute and mid-way through the first half doubled the score thanks to a penalty after Jean Borg was sent off.

In the second half, Luxembourg continued where they had left and added another three goals to register a comfortable win.

Malta will be in action on Monday against Belgium at the Stadion Den Dreef in Louvain in the first match from Group 6 of the UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifiers.
