The 7th edition of the Teamsport Goalkeeper Battle will be held on Saturday 10th June at the Luxol Stadium but unlike previous editions, this year’s edition will be held in the evening. Details were revealed by organisers Mario Muscat and Simon Grech during a press conference at Melita Gardens, Balzan on Wednesday.

For the fourth consecutive year, the profit will go to ZEM ZEM Foundation which is a voluntary organization which provides monetary assistance to patients suffering from diseases such as leukemia.

There will be eight categories and up to thirty-two goalkeepers can participate in each category. Goalkeepers will be grouped in fours and two from each group will advance to the second round. Each game has a duration of four minutes and all games are controlled by MFA referees.

The categories are: Under-9, Under-11, Under-13, Under-15, Under-17, Under-19, Seniors and Girls.

All participants will be given a Macron Goalkeeper kit, Numero 1 Goalkeeper gloves and a commemorative medal. The winners, runners-up and the third place in each category will be presented with a trophy. There will also be two special awards – one for the top scorer and the other for the goalkeeper who concedes the least goals.

Application forms can be obtained from TEAMSPORT in Iklin, Di Milano – Paola, Infetti Football Ground and clubs and nurseries in Malta and Gozo. The closing date is May 31st and the draws will be held on June 3rd.
